Long before we kept our hands immaculately clean for the sweet ritual of typing on a mechanical keyboard the accurate translation for the job at, well, hand, came the time when we wouldn’t shy away from greasing them up if our bike chain had slipped.

 

Growing up in neighborhoods where riding with friends was still safe from traffic, we didn’t want to be left behind. So we learned the basic mechanics of gears, how to realign front and back brakes and how to patch a flat tire.

 

Little did we know those summer afternoons watching the bicicletero straightening spokes and oiling chains would come handy 25 years later.

Our then ‘ride like the wind’ is now our ‘type like the wind’.
